    Hi again welshjojo,

My initial advice would be to contact https://www.CCCS.co.uk or https://www.payplan.co.uk (phone numbers on website) who are independent advisors (completely free) who will be able to help guide you in the best direction. I haven't looked at your figures yet, but you may be eligible to enter a Debt Management Plan which is an informal arrangement with your creditors to repay at a reduced rate, over a longer time and hopefully they will freeze interest. There maybe other options available to you, they will advise you.

If, like me at your stage, you are eager to get info asap, I'd advise going to the https://www.cccs.co.uk website and use their debt remedy tool. It's non-commiting but gives you a template to work out your income and expenditure properly (it's amazing what they help you budget for) and then they provide you with suggested routes at the end.

Good luck, you are in the right place :T

    smilealot :rolleyes2

P.S. Don't worry about your reasons for debt, no one will judge on here. I completely understand about the stress on your relationship. Hopefully this will ease once things start moving.

    hello there

the first thing id say is that you can cut down your food shoppping massively. If you are using the bus anyway, I expect you dont want to carry too much! Have a look on te old style board and learn how to cut your shopping back. I don know how old the kids are but I reckon you can save 100 pcm
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Your food bill is very large and why does your husband need to spend this much on his hair each month? I wonder why your husband's wage is so low, does he only work part time? It looks like one or other of you needs to put in some extra hours. You've also included the postage costs for selling things but not the income you make from this.
Your kids will love you more for keeping your marriage together rather than buying them fashionable clothes!

    Hi welshjojo,

I notice from your brief outgoings that you have not included things like clothes and birthday/xmas - this has presumably been the problem before. As you do not have a figure to keep to then you just spend whatever you like.

Looking at your figures I don't think you will be eligible to enter into a Debt Management Plan with them as you don't have over £100 excess income.

I would also look at https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk - there website is bsolutely brilliant and you can also download a debt pack or request one to be sent to you.

I know that you have made arrangements to pay some of your creditors but your outgoings already exceed your incomings so you will be unable to manage this.

On the national debtline site there will be letters you can send to your creditors to say you are struggling, send them your financial statement and make sure you include things like clothes.etc. and then offer them £1pm until you can have a good think about what you want to do.

At least if you default your payments your credit record will be blackened so you will be unlikely to get further credit so then the only money you will have to spend will be the income coming in, that will really make you tighten your belt.

Have you thought about applying for Housing and Council Tax Benefit, your income looks low and from first glance I think you may qualify but try https://www.entitledto.co.uk

If your bank account is with anyone you owe money to go and open another one just in case they try to move your money across to pay debts.

Failing all this, if you don't think you can manage on your own try and find your local Citizens Advice Bureau or some Local Council's have their own advisers to help people.

    Well done for posting!

Do you plan your meals on a weekly basis? You'll find if you do this and stick to your shopping list you will save money by not buying additional items and by not wasting food. Look in your freezer and cupboards to see what you have to use up.

Your broadband and phone seem a bit on the high side. Compare with other providers to see if they can offer you a better deal.

    Do you really need Sky?

Regarding shopping for your children. Things aren't what they will remember it is the time you spend together. Why not plan a family picnic now the weather is improving? Get the children help you prepare some of the food - chocolate krispy cakes are always a hit!

If you still need a shopping fix then why not join pigsback and allow yourself to spend only those vouchers.
