Any recommendations ?
Looking to buy 50% share in flat with local housing asscoiation Have been offered a normal mortgage above the amount i want but need to know who to go to if they dont do shared ownership

There are about 20 lenders who will lend on SO but I can't name them.
You are really best off contacting a whole of market mortgage advisor to do the investigating for you.
When we purchased last year, it ended up that there was only one option for us - Ipswich BS.

thanks guys managed to get Nationwide to agree althought HSBC had said they may be able to help if i see one of their advisors in branch , trouble is its 15 miles awayAdjusting to life on my own, No wife = spare cash :beer:0

Try speaking to Sherwins they are part of Savills and can search the whole market for you and have a lot of experience in Shared Ownership schemes.Sealed pot challenge - £400 no.4910

I have a shared ownership mortgage and know that Halifax, Nationwide and Leeds BS do - coz i've had mortgages from them all!

Mine's with Kent Reliance Building Society. I took out 75% 1 year ago they were superb! Now, one year on i'm trying to sort the last 25%... they don't want to know!

Why dont you just use a broker, who will know ALL the shared ownership lenders and their underwriting policies, let them do the comparing for you and come up with the best deal. If you keep going into bank branches on the offchance they will keep credit checking you which will wreck your credit rating and stifle your chances.I am a Mortgage Adviser
