Proof of income without P60

I will be moving to France and may need to prove my 2010 income to get housing benefit there - usually, this is done with a P60. I worked part-time from October 2009 to 27 March 2010. As such, I didn't receive a P60 for this employment as it all happened within one tax year.
I did get a P45, of course, but on that it seems to have the wrong amount. I earned approximately £3000 during the period with occasional taxes on weeks when I worked more hours and earned above the threshold.
However the P45 is blank in section 8, "This employment pay and tax. If no entry here, the amounts are those shown at box 7."
So I go to box 7, "Last entries on P11 Deductions Working Sheet." It says total pay to date: £218.90 and total tax to date: £18.80. This is about what I would earn in two weeks and a complete mystery to me. Alternatively it seems to match up to a standard 35-hour week on my rate of pay. I had a 16-hour contract and never worked more than 24 hours.
Can anyone help me figure out what is happening here? I leave in a week, and the housing benefit is worth over £1500 to me, so any help would be hugely appreciated.

Hello Arekkusu,
It could be that the majority of your pay related to the 2009/2010 tax year and then the last week or two of your employment pay related to the 2010/2011 tax year.
Check the date of leaving/issue stated on your P45 and if it is after 05 April 2010 then that would explain why your figures are small.
If the date is after 05 April 2010 then you will also need your P60 which would have the majority of your income stated on it for the 2009/2010 tax year which your Employer will be able to provide you with.
If you are facing problems obtaining this from your Employer then you can call HMRC who will also be able to provide you with a letter stating the figures that you require.
Good luck!Happy to help if required!
Kind regards0
