hi i posted the below on another link on here a few months ago but didnt get a reply so trying again... anyone know what i should do? cheers
Hi I was called by these people in Oct 2010 saying I had "won" a makeover (I had entered a few competitions so thought it was legit). it sounded great, and the lady who called me, Tanya asked if I wanted to bring a friend. she then advised me I had to pay a deposit to secure my place, I asked if I could think it over before parting with any money but she put pressure on me there and then to pay the deposit. afterwards I told my boyfriend who said its a con and i should ring the bank to cancel the transaction, so I did but they could not stop the payment, I called Tanya the next day and asked for a refund and she said they don't do refunds and apologised if i was a little worried which reassured me at the time. however I live nowhere near London and cannot afford to go there so did not attend in the end, I tried sending the tickets back to them in December with a polite letter advising I could not use the tickets and could I have a refund. They were returned to me with a note saying "addressee gone away" which made me think they have moved. It was only when I tried searching the company on google that I came across all the stuff saying it is a scam which really worried me. i managed to come across another address (on Bow Street) so tried sending them there....again they were returned undelivered. tried ringing the phone numbers and it says "number not in use". has this company been shut down? and what should i now do to try and claim my money back (if its at all possible) I lost £90 in total for 2 tickets :-( thanks for your help

ok after a lot of googling i have come across this link which shows the company went into administration a while ago http://www.companiesinadministration.co.uk/company/06370423/skylite-makeover-limited
so does that mean i dont stands a chance of getting my money back.. plus as it was a while ago as well.. thought about writing to these people but thinking i might be wasting my time!! xx0 -
You put in a claim with the administrators, but be aware you will be very low on the list of creditors so are unlikely to get the full amount, or nothing at all.0
