Self-employed for multiple jobs?

Hi,

I have a full-time job but this year I also registered myself as self-employed so I could start doing mystery shopping. I'm also considering using my day-job skills to do a bit of freelancing in my spare time. This would be totally different work to the mystery shopping I am currently registered self-employed for. Do I need to register again as self-employed for this additional job?

Thanks

Pete

No. You might want to keep tabs on each income stream to see which 'works' and which doesn't. But you'll only need to do one tax return for the lot.

I was going to say that but here's a thread which looks at completing Tax Returns for multiple income streams.

Yes, but the last thread there suggests that in the OP's situation the most that will be needed is separate SA pages, surely?

Agreed. Your answer “No.” was the complete answer to the OP’s question on this thread.

However, you having answered the question, it could be very sensible for the OP to think about completing his future Tax Returns now. One SA page, two or maybe more?

    Hi Pete,

You do not need to register again as self-employed but when you complete your self assessment tax return you will need to complete a self employment schedule for each type of self employment along with an employment schedule relating to your full-time job.
    Happy to help if required!

    Kind regards
