omg, sitting here as bald as a cout (had lovely long blonde hair till 5 days ago but the mother has come to visit and i've pulled it all out, also bitten my tongue off too) and she informs me that george michael has had a nervous break down (like i care) he'll have my company soon!
I always found it very useful to go and hit the bed when my step-mother was round, could not stand her for more than a few hours, really feel for you having a mum like that around for so long!
That said, at least you have a mum, mine sadly died nearly 30 years ago, would give anything to be able to disagree with her now
I know it is hard, but try to find some common ground with her and appreciate it while she is around
