I want to buy LEGO

My grandson is now old enough to start playing with basic LEGO. I'm looking to buy him a large set of basic pieces. Having got over the initial shock that this will cost around £34 I am now finding that just about everybody sells Lego for within a pound or two of everyone else. I thought it was only Apple who managed to make their retailers toe the line on prices of iPads!

Has anyone found a good place to buy LEGO please?

You'd really have to shop around but Smyth's Toy Store have 20% off all their toys this weekend. I picked up a couple of sets in there for my boys christmas.

Amazon has been known to have some good offers too.

I believe Argos are due their 3 for 2 on all Toys offer shortly so keep an eye out.

Hopefully Sainsbury's will be doing their annual half price toy sale again this year so another place to bear in mind.

If this is for a very small child and doesn't need to be all boxed, brand new and pristine, check out the local car boot sales! Week after week, there are many stalls all full of baby/childrens stuff - saw a massive big bag of Lego at a car boot yesterday for £10 - must have been a couple of hundred pounds worth.

Put it in a pillow case in the washing machine for a good wash though before handing it over!
