CCJ - OK if immediately satisfied???

Hello one and all!
Got a 'situation' I need some help and clarity understanding...
My girlfriend is being taken to court by her ex-boss who claims she owes him money for work not done (a very simplified account of what actually happened!). I understand that if she is found liable and has to pay, she is given 28 days to pay the amount in full, to avoid getting a CCJ on her file.
The court gives her the option to not attend the hearing if she doesnt want to (which she doesnt - long story......) and if they find her liable, they will automatically give her a CCJ, but is she pays it within 28 days, she can apply to have it marked as 'satisfied' (for a payment of around £15 to the relevent company)
My question is this - will a CCJ that is immediately marked as 'satisfied' effect her credit rating?? Is it like it was never even put on there? Or will potential lenders see it as a big No-No when considering her for credit, even though it is marked as 'satisfied'?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you can help me that would really help.
Jimbo

Hi Jimbo,
I recently did just what you are suggesting..I got a CCJ (Moorcroft..grr) and paid it within the 28 days allowed, I then had to ring the company to check they had got the payment, they put me on hold and rang the court to have the CCJ removed...although i am still waiting for confirmation in writing. From what the paperwork suggested if you pay within the 28 days it is removed...so potential creditors wont see it..although i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.
good luck

Hi Jimbo - i had same situation - I got a receipt from the company involved saying i had paid it off and on what date - and wrote a letter to registry trust enclosing it with their £4.50 fee.
10 days later they wrote back saying they had informed all agencies to remove it totally from my record.
Experian and equifax did so within a fortnight - mycallcredit needed a little "encouragement"0 -
Thanks for the info guys!!
The one problem i'm thinking is, the guy who's taking her to court is just one guy ie not a company, and he has proved he's got a nasty side. Does he actually have to write to the registry trust himself to say it's been paid off?? Because I can almost guarantee if it's left to him, he will 'accidently' forget, just so my girlf will get a CCJ...
Is there a way for me to ensure that her record stays clean??0 -
Hi Jimbo
Does your girlfriend dispute the claim? If so, then she should either attend the court and contest the claim. If she can not attend court, then she should fill in the form stating that she does not agree with the claim and stating her reasons. Frankly it would be best if she attends.
The court will listen to her defence and if it is justified the court will find against the claimant and no CCJ will be issued.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

If the CCJ is paid within 28 days and the court is told about this, the CCJ won't stay on your credit report. You only need to pay £15 for a certificate of satisfaction if you actually want additional proof of payment. As long as the court knows when your final payment is made they will automatically send confirmation to Registry Trust Ltd, which updates the credit reference agencies' records. Of course, as rog2 says, if she disputes the claim she should contest the case really.

If you intend to pay it anyway, then do so now before it gets to court, otherwise you will incur more charges.. That's only if you don't dispute it of course!0
