Withdrawing money from paypal

Options
It's not very clear on their website how withdrawals work.

I do a little parttime work for someone who pays me £20 every week. He told me he pays the fees to send the money to me. Will I be charged if I withdraw it or not? Their website keeps saying different things.

I NEVER pay fees for withdrawing :) It is only if you want to use a very fast payment option but appears that is changing too now :)

I haven't tried to withdraw yet.

My friend told me they charge you unless you withdraw £50 or more at any one time. I read something on their site that says it is free and then somethign that says 3.4% + 20p regardless. Not quite sure what to think.

When you try to withdraw money it states quite clearly that there is no limit to what can be withdrawn and there is no charge.

Just make sure your linked bank account is correct.

As I understand it, paypal charge a percentage on each payment made to you; if the payment is a "gift", then the person making the payment covers that too.

It depends on the bank account you want to transfer your funds and the amount you want to withdraw.

    No, there is no fee

That is correct. However gift payments are supposed to be just that- a way of transferring money to friends and relatives and gives a buyer no protection whatsoever. Paypal consider using the gift payment serive for other reasons to be misuse and it can eventually lead to your account being restricted or suspended.

The sender also needs to have a balance in their paypal account before the transfer, otherwise the buyer has to pay a fee or else pass it on to the seller

In your Paypal account, there's a withdraw tab, click that & transfer to bank account.
