More likely to win if...?

Hi firstly, I only just joined for a spot of comping
I was wondering if I could ask - People who've won quite a few things, do you always ignore the optional newsletter/communication boxes?
And have many people won things, who went through a 'no purchase needed' route?
I always feel like you're less likely to win if you take the easy route of no spam and no purchases.

Well I've only been comping a month so I am no expert, but I would think it should make no difference - once you've submitted the form and the entry is in their list then you've got as much chance as everyone else.0

I won lots (mainly small wins, but plenty of 'em, plus a few bigger wins) and I nearly always tick no to everything it lets me.I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!

Some tick boxes are for opting in or out so if you tick the wrong one you'll be attracting more emails/texts/phone calls or post. (I ended up with lottery texts somehow and they were hard to stop)
Some only give you the option of opting out once you've received an email.
(some might even ignore your request)
I'd hope they don't differentiate between participants but you never know if they do.0 -
If you've just started this is a brilliant thread, it answers all of newbies questions

Ah, I've ended up getting those lottery texts too. Frustrating.
Thanks Barnabysue, that's a really helpful thread

I think those compo's where they verify you answer and you have to wade throw a list of marketing offers while they check can tax the un-waring!0 -

Same for me. I have been comping for years and won loads including some really good prizes. I always tick no and then do an unsubscribe on any emails that slip through the net.0
