Sheila's wheels cancelled insurance after a month, kept deposit

Brief history - my previous insurers took to long to send a copy of no claims bonus, did contact SW, but was to late. Due to bad customer service (long story) was given a rebate of the £55 cancellation fee, hiwever the figures stil don't add up.
Total insurance for the year was £480, a deposit of £77 was taken along with a payment of £41. I was rebated £23 but was insured for only 28 days.
Can SW justify keeping the deposit as well as a £55 cancellation charge (I know I was given this back, but this appears to be the standard)
Any advice?

As you were outside the 14 day cancellation period they can charge for a month or two in premiums plus charge if they wish. Their terms are published.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
