Living Abroad for full tax year, but have UK earnings

    I didn't fill a SA109 for tax year ending 2011 (again I only did the SA online using their web forms like this time). Should I do that to save problems down the line, or will I be fined for late completion?
  • Hello Daniel,

    You have 12 months from the filing deadline to make an amendment to your tax return if necessary so for 2010/11 the deadline would be 31 January 2013.

    This type of amendment will not cause any penalties so I would advise you submit a SA109 form for 2010/11.
