Would you buy your wedding dress from ebay?
I have found the exact dress I was about to put a deposit on on ebay today, half the price of new and am now confused?!
Would you wear a pre-worn dress?
Are there any specific questions I should ask the seller?
Many thanks in advance!!

Depends on your budget and how you feel about wearing a dress someone else wore before you for a few hours.
Personally it wouldn't bother me and I'd be happy to divert half the dress budget (less alterations costs possibly) elsewhereI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I would ask has it been cleaned (specialist cleaning is quite expensive) but other than that it wouldn't bother me at all.0

Just realised the dress on ebay is "alabaster ivory" rather than the ivory that I tried on & I can't see from pics how much different the two colours are :SMarried my wonderful husband February 2013!:happyhearI want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......Must STOP spending!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0

I would go to the shop and ask what shades it comes in and have a good look.
I would also message the seller and tell her what you are doing so that she knows there is interest. You could check out if anyone else is watching it so that you have an idea if you will have competition.0 -
My dress was from Ebay but had never been worn - it was being sold by a liquidation agents as the shop where I had tried it on had gone into receivership, closed down and all their stock was being sold.
After my wedding, I sold it on Ebay, for about £5 more than I had paid for it, which was 10% of it's retail value.0 -
It sounds as if I'm the prophet of doom on your posts but I dont mean to be....but before you buy anything via ebay that may have been worn previously you need to check its condition with the seller.
you need to know exactly what you are buying and what you have to remember is that even though they will say they only wore the dress for a few hours,it will probably need to be cleaned...they may have arranged this and you need to find out if its been done and how....professional cleaning starts at about £80 so if its not been done you will probably findyou will want to get it cleaned before you wear it.
If it hasnt been cleaned then the longer you leave any stains on it the more difficult it becomes to get rid if them completely..sweat can be a really difficult one to deal with the seller maybeseeing it under rose tinted glasses and what they say is "like new" may not be your interpretation of it....so if there are any issues with the dress however minor then do make sure you are aware of them before you purchase, and you are happy that the seller has described the dress fairly.
Having said all that...if you find the perfect dress then its worth buying second hand !frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
