Saturday/Sunday 22nd/23rd September - What small DFW things will you be doing this we

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:
Morning - really thought we'd be started by now!
WW - excellent news re the weight loss. That's amazing! You really must be soooooo chuffed with yourself! How long did it take you and what is going to be your cal allowance to maintain? I will add you on MFP later. Is your food diary open? I think it'd be a good idea if we allow each other to see our food logs it might help each other - what do you guys all think?
Hurrah to Saturday and it being the 2nd day of my weekend :j
Things for today:
* [STRIKE]check banking - get oh to transfer in his money...[/STRIKE]
* check savings accounts...
* [STRIKE]did projected budget for expenses in new house
will be tight, but worth it. We will need to look for additional ways of bringing in cash...[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]all meals from stores - yellow stickered chicken out of freezer for tonight. Gonna make some pancakes in a minute...[/STRIKE]
* make gift for naming ceremony tomorrow. Work out what I'm going to wear...
* gym and sauna in a bit
* [STRIKE]do an hours packing/sorting[/STRIKE]
* drop off a box at the CS
* [STRIKE]go and look for a frying pan at TK Maxx[/STRIKE] bought one for £12.99 spent ages looking to see which one and also how to ensure its longevity! :money:
* [STRIKE]go and see if there are any puffball mushrooms in a site we found last year...[/STRIKE] not yet....
* film in with oh tonight :iloveyou:
That'll do me. Happy weekend guys! x

Morning D N M , thanks for starting us off.
"Go and see if there are any puffball mushrooms in a site we found last year..."
We love Shrooming too and we're going on a course in a couple of weeks to learn more.
For me becoming Debt Free is also about keeping my spirits up and looking after my mental health. I had medication for my mental illnesses but I can't expect to just sit back and let the pills do the work; I have to make an effort too and I try to find things to keep me occupied and happy in my spare time to brighten the shadow of debt.
#The wee birds are already. And we're thrilled that our friend the chaffinch is back; we call him Chaffy. Small pleasures!
#Today we're going for a walk at a local SWT reserve. We'll take a packed lunch and a flask of coffee. It's gonna be lovely and sunny today; rare for Scotland! :coffee:
#Chat to pals on Facebook. Done.
#Shower instead of bath. Done.
#Read paper online. Done.
#Would anyone use a £20 off glasses voucher? Valid only at Specsavers Glasgow 100 Sauchiehall Street or 187 Trongate Centre. Only for the £69 range or above. Purchase to be made in the next 3 months. It's not the cheapest way of buying specs but if you were planning on making such a purchase anyway I would post the voucher to you.

Morning ladies!
Determined - it took about 12 weeks or so to lose the weight, by doing 1200 ish cals a day and exercising up to 5 times a week (running or swimming). I'm thinking about losing another 5 lbs to get me to 9 and a half stone so I'm not done yet!
I was going to Wales today for a family do but the dog wasn't well last night (stung by a bee), so I have told them I can't go. Happily, the dog is better today so all is well!
So today's DFW things....- Saving £60 odd on petrol for the trip home
- Going to do the supermarket shop later, aiming for the bare mimimum and to use things up this week
- Will do a shopping list before I go
- Walked dog in the park
- Do some exercise later (probably a run as its nice out today)
- More dogwalking
- Clean the house
- Clean the car out
- Maybe go to the cinema later if I get bored
- Ordered a jacket from the Next sale - if I'm not 100% about it when it comes I'll send it back (£69 rediced to £25)

Good Morning All
DNMS - Thanks for starting us off this morning
Jonno - Congrats on being debt free
WW - Congrats on the weightloss, you've done amazing. I am at the point where I need to step up the exercise now to continue the weightloss and hopefully after todays docs visit I should start to feel more up to exercising. Think my weightloss is going to be slow(but then again it didnt go on overnight)
Hi to all the regulars and welcome to any newbies that join this FAB group

Wow, it's extra quiet on here today
thanks for all the well wishes on becoming debt free. Just want to make sure I keep up the good habits as the next year will be really tight with being on MAT leave, so want to keep things up and then build a reasonable 'slush' fund when I return to work :T anyway, my list for the weekend:
:)Meals from stores
:)Menu pan for next week based on shop I did yesterday - infant should be more than enough for 2 weeks so I did that too
:)Tried dress on bought from fleabay for friends wedding. Bargain :j will sell back on after I have worn it
:)Washing done, dried outside in the sunshine
:)Replied nicely to lady buyer from fleabay that accused me of washing a dry lean only dress I sold wanting a full refund. Basically she doesn't like it  plus it taken her two weeks to tell me that
:)Quality time with DD and DH
:)Sorted spare room and found some more thing to fleabay and boxed up lots more also sorted present box - I've quite a stash an well on my way to being sorted for Christmas
:)Make a list on my phone of everything else I want to get for Christmas so I can cross it off when I'm out and about
:)Do the same as above for baby stuff - didn't do this yesterday
:)Texted friends rather than called
Think that's about all. Have a great weekend :j0 -
Good morning everyone. I had a Grandma Day yesterday so didn't get chance to put up my list. Apart from a bit of running around in the car (DGD goes to kick-boxing at the tender age of 4!!) I had a very DFW type day. And another NSD too making 19 so far this month :j
So far this weekend:- breakfast and lunch at DD's house yesterday
- had NSD yesterday
- washing up done this morning on Economy 7
- fed and watered the chickens - only 2 eggs yesterday
- collected DM's 50 year old beast of a sewing machine from DD's house - number 7 in the collection now
- dinner last night from stores
- have HM granola for breakfast
- lunch from stores - toasted HM bread with poached eggs I think
- drag something out of freezer for dinner
- try out latest sewing machine to see if it will cope with the thick leather in the loft - if so, I can turn it all into money
- list loads of bits on ebay as I'm sure it's free listing this weekend
- read water meter to see how we're doing - DH hasn't quite got the hang of it yet and still washing things under a running tap
- DH to fill up with diesel as it's a 'cheaper fuel weekend' at the village garage - not counted towards my spends as he's paying
- have quick shower this evening instead of relaxing bath
- have another NSD
Wow, didn't realise there was so much to do today so I'd better get dressed and get on with it!
