    So buy them in Tesco, use the 40p coupon from the current Tesco mag, and use TPP to get 'em for £1.60. Not bad, given that even value eggs are now £1.50 a dozen.
  • In my Sainsburys the basics eggs are £1.89 for 15 and are supposed to be barn eggs (Sainsburys don't sell eggs from caged hens apparantly) but I always hunt through the boxes and have always managed to find free range ones, and on occasion organic. They are of mixed sizes too - but again I always look for the biggest. Apparantly they put all the eggs, of whatever origin, into the basics if they don't conform to the usual sizes, big or small. You don't find mixes of FR and barn in the same box ever.

    Yes, you need to check the codes:-

    0=organic
    1=free range
    2=barn
    3=caged
