Another 65p spend today - on a bag of Quavers in the p.office near my work0
-
well have finished week 2 and have spent £98.46 so am actually on target for once:T so well pleased with myself, have also got a mr t order coming on weds and have managed to keep that to about 65 quid, well actually it will be less than that as that includes some wine and cider and i will deduct that from the total, figure if i am having a tipple at home that is much cheaper than going out to the local, so off the alkie comes off my total:beer:
well, think the reason i have not done too bad so far is i have been doing more home cooking and lots of batch freezing and making even more of an effort to take my own lunch to work (my lunches i include in the total as i have no excuse, but oh's aren't as he does shift work so errrr, he does have an excuse!) and as i have a freezer full of delia's libyan soup think i might have to have a go at those famous homemade hobnobs that everyone seems to like so much, so wish me luck!

Tesco Tomato Sauce (not value) is 85p for 460g, you can get 570g for £1.00.
Tesco Daisy Kitchen Cleaner with bleach is 46p for a trigger spray. (It's as good as Flash I would say).
Kitchen roll in Wilkinsons is 50p for 2 rolls just now, its called quencher and comes in white or a pattern, almost as good as bounty or whatever its called now.
I hope you don't mind me posting this, but every little really does help and I'm desperate to keep in budget this month and have done the rounds on the high street today, If a can save a penny I did:D...and I don't normally buy branded goods...but I do have to be careful what I use on my quartz worktops - they cost a bloomin fortune so don't want them ruined
Went to Co$tco this morning - more on a reccy mission really. I'm helping at a church function on Friday so needed to price some items and see whether it's better to get in T's or C's. I've also run out of Pep$i max and DS1s drinks for school, so it was worth the time and effort

Hello all :hello:
Hope your all well! Hannah I hope your dog is ok
I have to add another spend to add... £8.33 in Mr T. I stocked up on cereal, bread & Milk and fabric softner while it was on offer. Also bought cereal and juice for my babysitter and some snacks for the kids.
So all in all Im still doing ok...
It is funny how this thread changes how you look at food/shopping. My fridge is kinda empty to be fair, but there is milk, some cheese, a few yogurts, butter etc - all the essentials are there.
Before this month, I would have rushed out and filled it up, basically for the sake of filling it up! The cupboards are full, there are a few meals in the freezer so there is plenty there! We are FAR from starving!
The fruit bowl is looking a bit bare now though, but we are using tinned fruit for desserts and dried raisins etc at breakfast as well as fruit juice, so the 5 a day is still happening... I think that is the only thing I actually NEED!
Total spend - £139.30
Left for the month - £110.70!
When you see it written down in front of you... Its frightening how much you overspend... £250 per month would be a MINIMUM spend for me and DS, its often been a lot more! And bear in mind £70 of what Ive spent was on a Fridge Freezer!! IVe only spent £69.30 on food this month.... previously that would have been a weeks worth  ETA - admittedly we have been away for three days and like I say we need fruit and will need meat etc soon to do some batch cooking etc and meal plan for this week, so ordinarily I would have spent a bit extra to be comfortable, but Im still amazed at the difference in my spendingSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

I spent £37.62 in Mr A yesterday but the thing that got me was I used my calculator as I went around and my total was £36.41 so something was incorrectly priced (I had DS with me and couldnt be bothered to try and figure out what was the item that was mis-priced but it just goes to show!
We are struggling with fruit at the moment as the kids take some to school but they have gone off some fruit and I am not sure what to send them in with at the moment.
£40 left for next week so we should come in on budget for a change.
We have a car on HP and have just managed to get a loan to pay off the remaining amount and the loan is going to cost us less a month than the HP but we want to re-pay it earlier than the 5 years its over so any money saved from the grocery budget will be used for this. Slowly but surely we are getting our debts paid off or shifted around for a better deal!
Am hoping to lower the budget next month (our month will start on 25th October). I might draw all the money out and split into the amount of weeks until November Pay day and see whether that is better than a big monthly shop.
Hannah I hope your dog is ok. I know my mum can pay in a few instalments at her vets (but then she does see her vets a lot!) might be worth it with a big bill like that.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.
Paying off debt bit by bit0 -
I am annoyed with myself...I had a truly rubbish day yesterday so instead of sticking to my meal plan I asked DH to order pizza
I don't even know how much we spent other than approx £20 but that's the budget blown now! Will confirm cost later & update siggy...
I'm quite good when it comes to meal planning, dropping a brand etc but we always blow it with takeaways on days I am too stressed to cook, which is pathetic. Why couldn't I have just got an oven pizza to bung in or something instead??
How do you lovely people fight the dreaded takeaway cravings?:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
