My late grandfather got Fortisip on prescription. Though if I remember only certain flavours were available on prescription.0

It's a waste of time unless your gran has it as well as meals. Does she have difficulty swallowing? If not, a normal diet will do her more good than any supplement.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Thanks for the replies. Spoke to GP and he says she doesn't really need it. Gran says it's good and she wants it. We don't want to upset her especially at her age. Best way forward?SECRET OF SUCCESS IN LIFE:

They are really expensive about £2.79-3.25 a bottle, depending on where you get them from.
There is a similar product to Fortisip called Ensure Plus. I have noticed this on Ebay and this auction works out at £1.07 a bottle
Or if she likes the banana and vanilla flavours, this auction works out at 84p a bottle!0 -

Why was she getting them in hospital and has that reason stopped? If she no longer needs them she will be getting extra calories for no good reason which may bring its own problems.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

True. I see where you are coming from. We don't expect her to be around much longer so calories aren't an issue. Thanks for the good thinking.SECRET OF SUCCESS IN LIFE:
