How to flag that a comp has ended?

Hi all,

Just wanted a bit of advice, have done a quick search but couldn't see anything on the boards.

Was wondering what the best way is to get a competition moved over to game over when it has finished but is still in the current comp thread?

So far, I've just been pressing expired if it is passed the end date on the subject of the thread or if the comp has ended early have put a comment and pressed expired.

I was just wondering if this was the best way?

Thanks

It is, when a certain number of people have clicked it gets moved.

Thanks for the reply. Knowing that several people need to click expired before it moves makes sense. Part of the reason I queried whether I was doing the right thing was that when I clicked expired the post didn't seem to move.

I think my need for neatness and order is being applied to the board and not just my bookcases!

    Thanks again

:D. It also stops it being moved if one person clicks it by mistake. Wish I was as tidy as you!

It is quite rare, but sometimes a whole day's comps ending on a particular date don't get moved to Game Over and remain on the main board even though they have all ended. This happens when something goes wrong with the daily batch process to move all comps ending yesterday to Game Over. It happened recently with comps ending 12/09. This can especially happen to comps with invalid end dates such as 31/09 or 30/02.

If you see a comp with an end date 2 or more days previous that is not in G.O. then if possible use End Date View to see if the other comps from this date are also still on the main board. If it looks like a whole batch has been missed then send a message (PM) to a Board Guide (BG) telling them what you have found. If there is just a single comp then clicking "Expired" is sufficient.
