...my thread of hopefullness...

I'm writing this for anyone who feels things can't get any better..

When I joined this site a few years ago I was massively in debt (almost 100k) I had just found out I couldn't have children which resulted in my having a breakdown then my relationship went belly up and I lost the job I loved... I was in arrears with everything and paying my mortgage with cash from my credit card

I seriously considered giving up, and to be honest I tried several times to end my life, oh how fortunate I am that I failed.

fast track to today my debt is currently
£47,000 (mortgage)
£5250 bank of mum and dad and that's it...no C/C's no secured loans anymore, no more sleepless nights and no more panic attacks.

What makes my situation even better is that for the last three years I have been at uni, and yesterday I qualified as a mental health nurse. I've secured the job of my dreams working with children with mental health problems, and my experiences with my own struggles I know will make me a better nurse.

I've managed to get through uni not only not getting into any further debt but by further reducing it by almost £40K

Thank you to the wonderful people on here who offered advise and support and a 'chin up' when I needed it. It's not been easy, I've looked like a tramp at times cause I've gone without haircuts or buying clothes, I've worked every spare minute and been out twice in them three years with my uni friends (the second time being yesterday) I cut everything to the bone, dusted of my slow cooker and walked/cycled a lot!!! (then claimed my travel expenses ;) lol) I've ebayed, and re-claimed from the banks to the tune of 7k, I now shop around and barter with everyone, regularly change my suppliers and threaten to leave to get better deals...
but now that debt is gone forever and I won't be forgetting that hard lesson!!

Please don't ever think that you can't overcome your problems, I thought things wouldn't get better and now i'm in a great place my next thing is to pay mum back then I'm going to join MFW board, something when I joined here I would never have dreamed of!!

Thank you!! Keep the faith!!
