Tax rebate

Hi
For the first few months of this tax year I was working and was paying 20% tax. I only made around £3000. I am currently on income based JSA. How do I go about getting a tax rebate? Is it harder as it is in the current tax year the money is owed and I am getting JSA at the momement? I maybe going back to university very soon so I'd be a student not sure if that makes it harder or easier to get back.

Give the JSA people your P45 that you got from when you were working. You "should" get your tax rebate through them. At least thats what they told me AFTER I wasn't claiming anymore so that I couldn't do it that way. Had to go through tax office and it was a nightmare.

If you're going back to University you should be able to claim it striaght away.

It also depends on if you do go to University, whether you will take a job, you say 'may'.If you dont and you are going to be jobseeking so I doubt if you will get any rebate until you either get a job or not find employment before April, whichever comes first.
