HELP! Lewis debt recovery

Hello. Am new to this so hoping I have posted this in the right place.

Just received a letter from 'Lewis debt recovery' saying I owe them £43.72 for an overdue eBay account but the only overdue eBay account I have is already with a debt collection agency and is already getting paid off as we speak.

So I am wondering if this is a fake debt? Hoping you can help :)

  • Multiple debt collection agencies pursuing the same debt is a breach of OFT guidelines but does sometimes happen.

I would write to Lewis's pointing out that as the matter is already being settled with another DCA they are acting in breach of the OFT guidelines and unless you receive acknowledgement within 8 weeks that the matter is closed you will be referring it to the FOS for resolution.
