How do I...

sign off the dole? Hi, I've had a butchers on few sites but can't seem to find a definitive answer on how to sign off the dole. I've recently moving back in with my parents and now don't wish to claim Job Seekers anymore, I've also been placed on that damn 'Work Programme' in the past couple of months, which, let me tell you is the biggest joke going.

So, I'm not going into full time employment, but I take it that doesn't stop me from signing off? Just wondering how it's done. Will they arrange an appointment, and what happens with the 'Work Programme'?

  • Just fill in the back fo your signing on booklet or don't go to sign on anymore and they will close your claim. I beleive if you sign on again within a certain period of time the work programme will pick you straight up again, its at least six mnoths but could be longer dependant on age.

Go in on your next meeting and let them know you don't wish to claim anymore, they won't mind.

why would you want to sign off? You will get no £ and no NI stamp paid.

If you have just been put on the work programme you can not sign back on for 2 years or you will be sent back to it right away.

Why not? Are you as a grown adult going to ponce off them instead of contributing towards your keep?

That isn't really fair is it?
