Wide shoes for girls??

I need shoes for DD aged 6, she's a 12.5 h in clarks but they never have any in her size. I've tried all the shops near me and can't get a H fitting for her, clarks shop said they can't order sizes and no facility to order on the web. She's had the same style pair now two times running because they were the only ones they had in a H and there doesn't seem to be any at all now. I've seen the start-rite shoes advertised but haven't bought these before - what are they like and where can you buy them.

Why aren't wide fitting available on websites for kids!!:mad:

2 of my children have inherited my wide "flippers", and we've had this problem with choice and availability too. Startrights are good shoes, but a bit more expensive than Clarks. They usually sell from good independant kids/family shoe shops and maybe some department stores (think I once got some a John Lewis).
Sadly, they aren't any trendier than Clarks, but they tend to have a few reasonable styles which are good for school.

I think they don't sell online as a foot is 3 dimensional object and shoe sizing only comes in 2 dimensions (width and length), so one 12H foot is not identical to another - so you gotta try before you buy!

Our Clarks shop were very helpful, and if a shoe was made in a particular size, but not in stock, they'd always offer to order it in for us to try.
