I don't know I'm afraid, never had dealings with HSBC. Check the terms and conditions of the account and/or loan or ring them up. Right here's an update...
hsbc credit card £1982 at 14.9%
egg credit card £5057 at 19.9%
hsbc loan £15000 at 7.9%
owe 02 £300
owe hsbc overdraft £300
What do I do? Panicking now!!!!0 -
Right me again:)
So new plan after just talking to hsbc
1.Pay off hsbc overdraft
2.Set up direct debit from my new bank to pay off hsbc loan (it can be done!:))
3.Pay off hsbc credit card
4.Pay off egg card
I know I should pay off egg card before hsbc but I just want to cut all ties with hsbc now it's not possible to get a striaght answer off anyone who works there!!0 -
Ho toasti
If you're thinking of a DMP I would suggest you talk to CCCS. They are a charity and will liase with your creditors on your behalf. The important thing is that as they are a charity everything you pay on the DMP actually comes off the debt, unlike some companies who will take commission. My DH started his DMP in March and already things are easier. Can't overstate the importance of budgeting though. Things will get better, but it will take work. I would be tempted to tell your parents what you're going through - they might suprise you! Best of luck:A0 -
Hi
Thanks for the advice.I don't want to tell my parents as it's my own mess and they'll scream at me for being so stupid so I don't want to go there
I've just drawn up a budget after speaking to o2 about making payment by installment and am paying off hsbc overdraft in May,o2 on 1st of the month by telephone payment (for 6 months until paid off),will make extra payments to hsbc credit card of £200 a month, this should be paid off in December when I can start making extra payments to my egg card.
I don't really want to go on a dmp now as I would rather try to sort it out myself first and proving to myself that I can have self control. It's my own stupid mess0 -
PS What would others advise me to do?0
