I am 58 female and after living with partner for 15yrs [him claiming for me for last 5 /pension credit] I now find it impossible to live with him and am looking for somewhere else to live. my problems are
a] how much money am I entitled to as before we claimed together I was on long term sickness benefit but not dla. and how long does it take?? to sort out
b] I would need to go private renting [furnished as he wont let me have any of my stuff] and would need to find the deposit etc.and as I don't work/have income where could I get references from as my homes have all been council.,
c] as I would be on my own there is only 2 bed houses to rent in my area so would I get rent paid by dss.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is there some sort of abuse in this? If so, I might be tempted to seek advice from the numerous womens help charities who are very likely to have extensive information and support which you obviously need.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Most of this is a benefits not a housing query

If there are no one bedroom or studio flats in the immediate area you will need to move further afield or contribute significantly to the rent yourself. Research 'paper bond'.
It's not up to your ex to 'let' you have your stuff, if it is yours take it with the support of a solicitor and/ or the police.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
