Hello All,
I did not know where to put this thread, so decided to type it here.
Me and a friend have just started attending a gym. Its quite high teck, little staff around and montered by CCTV and pin codes to move around the gym.
A personal Trainer (PT) approached us one evening when we were hard at it, on the treadmill. He carries out meal plans, exercise plans, goals blar blar and a fitness plan. He wants to offer us both an hour session a week for five weeks. Together and will be charged £30.00 a session (£15.00 each - £75.00 each for five sessions) is that good, a deal????
PS The head line should be £30.00 a week, not month

I think it depends if you can motivate yourselves. PT's can be useful for that. But at the end of the day everything you need is out there for free so £120 a month is not that good deal! look up WWW.myfitnesspal.com this has a fantastic calorie tracker and if you and your friend both go on it you can see each others calorie intakes and exercise calories earned etc. Best thing i've seen for tracking and there is an app for it too and all for free. also if you want an intensive workout look up jillian michaels 30 day shred on you tube only 20 mins and really gets results : )0

That is a very fair price to train 2 people. I would not commit up front though, ask for 1 session for £15 each on the premise that if you like it you will buy a block of 5 sessions.
Before you decide to do it ask yourself:
1. What do I want from this PT? You need to have goals set out to get the most out of it.
2. Do you need it? I've trained in a gym for 12 years (and worked in them for 5) and never had a PT, my results have been as good as anyone with a PT because I have done research off my own back.
During the session ask yourself
1. Do you have his full attention?
2. Has he asked you about your goals, what you enjoy and what you dont and most importantly, has he asked you if you have any injuries (most importantly)?
3. Is he getting you to do anything you couldn't do yourself? Is he pushing you harder than you could yourself?
If any of these answers is no, its probably not worth it.
He should also offer you a free consultation/chat where he can sell himself to you and you can find out what he really has to offer.0 -
Also, have a chat with some of his other clients and see what they have to say about him.0
