Oil for indoor oil lamps?

I've got some lovely old fashioned glass oil lamps but I have no idea where to get oil for them.
The last time I bought oil was 25 years ago in a branch of Woolworths - not much use trying there now! I haven't seen it in any diy stores - anyone know any chain stores that sell it? Its for indoor use so not the citronella stuff for garden lamps.
I'm hoping some OStylers will know - ty!

Have you tried Wilkos? Seems like the type of place that might stock it. Also, Amazon sells all sorts of things you wouldn't expect, may also be worth a check.

I have a feeling you can use veggie oil, but I'm not totally sure. If the lamps are particularly valuable to you then don't try it in case it damages it, but if one of them is a cheapy / already damaged then it may be worth a go.
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

I buy from a local ironmongers and have seen it (at twice the price) in one of the local garden centres.

I've made an used an olive oil lamp, this one: http://down---to---earth.blogspot.co.uk/2009/07/how-to-make-oil-lamp.html
works well and no smell, or we can buy paraffin in our local DIY store but it's expensive for one small bottle dearer than olive oil!

I have some fibre glass wicked glass oil lamps and buy mine from here. It's £3.99 for a litre (which does last a fairly long time) and you can buy tints to colour it if you wish. Because of the size of the bottle it comes via a courier so if you can afford best to buy several bottles at once (shipping is £5 IIRC).
