Transferring pensions?

Sorry, just re-read your post about the SERPS payment being paid into Standard Life, ( I thought you were reffering to the old Kvaerner Sun Life pensions ),

There is a statement from Standard Life which shows my employers contributions, there are no additional payments that would suggest SERPS, so maybe I am still contracted in?

When I left Kvaerner I was without any personal pension until I started my current job. From say 1999 to 2002. Would my SERPS have automatically contracted back in as there was nowhere else for it to go?

I have applied for on-line access to my Standard Life plan so I can get more up to date information. I'll have a look at that when it comes through and also at my state forecast, then I can go from there.

I think I'll transfer the Kvaerner pot over anyway seeing as it's such a small amount. I will be making a concerted effort once in Australia to start making some decent contributions into my pension - I'm starting to worry a little now about being a skint old man.

Sounds like you contracted back in after leaving Kvaerner and remain contracted in, which is fine.
