    Hi,
I have E7, and found I do save. I run at night/early morning (using delay timers)
    washing machine
    tumble dryer

    also to add
I now have renta roof solar panel, so my daytime use of electricity is either free or reduced.
I'm presuming you are out at work during the day, but surely these two items could wait until the weekend and use the free solar?

It's quite a common and incorrect opinion posted on the gas & electric board that E7 is only beneficial for those who use a large percentage of their electricity overnight, but it's interesting to note that the majority of those who think this have no evidence to support such a claim.
Those of us who have actually bothered to compare the cost based on our own consumption have the evidence to prove savings are attained with E7 :j

    Absolutely!
My spreadsheet continues to confirm that, on my tariff, even with only 30% off-peak usage, I was saving money. Since having solar PV fitted, my daytime use has reduced, and the ratio is now 35%.

I reckon that some folk with PV are looking at technical ways of maximising their savings without revisiting the calculation for E7.

As my partner rises early for a long commute, there is no problem for me to transfer washing to the dryer to run on E7. Nowadays the weather forecast is also consulted - will there be enough sun to run in daytime, or will it be better overnight.
