Ah lets turn the car MOT into a positive - (not the normal description I would say) but as from your new balance, you do have disposable funds, - when in Nov is the car due
(thoughts)
Start of month - Then I would just pay a little extra off the cards say £250 and keep £500 as a float for the car, then whats left then pay off the cards, the money would be the savings from Octs budget
Mid Month - Again using Octs money - would use same princple of start of month
End of month - Use Octs money would hold back £250 towards the car (just as an emergency as your have the overspill from Novs savings
As for monthly saving for cars - I'm saving £45 per month for MOT and Maintance (I'm on debt managment plan) that was the sum alloated as acceptable, on top of that I also have a savings of £15 per month towards AA recovery.
What I have done is opened a new bank account just for the car money, - but at the mo I owe my dad £270 still for the car, as mine needed some work for the Mot. I'm going to do half and half for now, (thats me), but hope that gives an idea.
I'm guessing your car is a lot newer than mine, but one of my MOT failures was tyre - I have a mid range trye and tracking and all the gubbings that go with it that was £65 quid.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
