I had a larger than planned tea party for my dd last week! They loved it. Can't beat a good game of musical statuesMortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017

You're having a good start to the year CA:T well done on your overpayments and all your holiday bookings, fingers crossed there are more in the pipeline.
You were brave hosting a party for a dozen 5 year olds at home:eek: great news that it was done inexpensively. Can I ask what party food you did? My dd is having a birthday party in a couple or weeks and although I'm splitting the cost with a friend I have a feeling I'm still going to spend more than I would like. She's never had a party before though some want her to have a good one.
I hope your AP continues to settle in well and make life a little easier fr you.

How useless have I been keeping my diary up to date! Must get back on track. It is so hard trying to find the time. I am snatching a few minutes while DS3 plays lego and the other children are playing on the wii, as a reward for doing some reading/writing/maths practice. I am determined that they will not go back to school after Easter having forgotten everything!
£336,651 is the current mortgage balance! :j Love seeing it come down so quickly under our "new" mortgage - which runs out on 31/12 - eek! - but there is still a long way to go. The low £300s feels so much more manageable though.
Our conservatory plans are currently with the council for pre application approval - they are a couple of weeks late giving us a decision, so fingers crossed. I have no idea whether they will like our ideas or not - it's tricky to tell with listed building officers.
We have finished redecorating our playroom and it looks beautiful. A very nice space in which to relax or play. I need to do the rest of the house now! It is hard trying to decide whether to overpay the mortgage or save funds for house projects.
No OPs made for the past couple of months (apart from the OP built into our regular monthly payment) as we always get a bit less money coming in in the last couple of months of the tax year. The holiday let is a bit slow for bookings at the moment too. I'm trying to save most of my accountancy earnings within the company at the moment, in case we want to put the money towards our building plans, so again no possibilities of overpaying this income at the moment.
Hope everyone is doing well. I have been catching up with diaries where I can. Tilly - so fab to here Mr T's job news and I was delighted to hear this. Crumpets - have loved reading about your new kitchen and porch all coming together. I will endeavour to post and reply more from now on!

Good to see you back CA, I've been wondering how you were getting on;) I'm having a similar struggle as you re overpaying or doing house projects. It's a difficult choice but if you're making your home a nicer and more manageable place to lve, it's worth spending the money on. We're only making minimal ops at the moment too.
Best of luck with your conservatory plans. Hope you get the good news soon
