I wish I'd found this forum sooner! I've had debts for over 2 years and haven't had the strength to face them and deal with them, but I've hit rock bottom and really need some help. It started when i was made redundant and was out of work for 4/5 months.... I'd spent all my redundancy money on paying rent and bills and was back to square 1. I eventually had to leave my flat as i could no longer afford it and took a low paid temp job..then when that ended i went to stay in abroad with relatives as i was suffering with depression, to try to get back on track and left my debts behind. At this point, i don't even know how bad things are - i had two bank accounts that were closed (both with overdrafts on them) by santander (the worst bank ever) and a phone contract that i defaulted the payments on. Santander refused to help me in any way so have been without a bank account for 2 years. I have no proof of permanent address and am currently staying at my boyfriends and having my wages paid into his account (i have another low paid temp job) i don't even know where to start with any of this but i desperately want to get it sorted so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hiya & welcome
Im sure your get the right guidance here. First things first you will need to sort a permanent address.
Have you even approached a bank for a new account yet? They will give the best advice on what type of account they can offer. Friend of mine had her current accounts closed and she could still get a very basic account with no o/draft facilities etc with on eof the high street ones. Your not the first person to need one so they will be available.
Think you need to find a 'base' first and apply for an account, without set residence you cant really do a lot. I assume you have passport/drivers licence etc for ID?
With any of your previous debt, it may be the wrong approach but i personally would leave this until they contact you. Depends whether you are in a financial position to start offering payments or clear them. Once you're set up back here, bank account open, and 'exist' again then deal with that as a next step. plenty of options there.
Get that 'home' address first though!! Keep us postedPeak £52,195.89  24/9 £48,892.24 - GOAL C/Cards under 10k by 24th Jan 201324/6 CC £14,477 24/7 CC £14,249 24/8 CC £13,908 24/9 CC £13,0689/10 CC £12,409.91 :TOfficial DFW NERD #1441 PaD @ 9/10 £226 SPC5 #1835
