Feeling really really lonely.

Can't really put my finger on it, but just feel super lonely tonight.

I've got letters from companies/debt collection agencies coming out of my head, I'm struggling to make payments to CCCS for my DMP and my OH and me are struggling, on all fronts.
He doesn't understand the worry of every letter that comes through the door in my name or every time the phones rings, I worry it's going to be a ballif.

I feel like my life's consumed by stressing about money, worrying about how we're going to pay the rent/council tax/water direct debits/afford food shopping whereas my OH doesn't seem to worry at all. If things don't get paid, he doesn't stress, lose sleep or go out of his way to find the money.

Just feel like no-one around me really understands.

  • Didn't want to read and run, but your certainly posting in the right place for help and advice. Have you done an SOA (Statement of Affairs) yet?

If you haven't, then post one up. People on here are very helpful and none judgemental and will be willing to help you see where you can cut spending.

    All the best :)

    Hi bexiboo92

Just wanted to send you a hug, dealing with debt can feel like being in a very lonely place especially if you feel like you're battling this alone, if your struggling with your DMP you should talk to CCCS maybe your SAO needs to be reviewed, maybe a few 'tweaks' are needed that might help you.

Never ever feel that no one else understands because everyone on here does because we're all on the same journey all be it at different stages.

I agree with Netwizard post your SAO and let the good people on here have a look and see if there are some areas where you could make some savings or get a better deal.

Chin up it's only money and people can't have what you haven't got :)
  • Can't offer much advice other than i have only been a member here for a week now but what a week it's been, just reading posts have given me such a positive feeling, saved money on phone bills already :) 1st time in years i feel like i can actually get somewhere with money, all be it slowly but in the right direction. This place is full of some very finacially astute people just waiting to give you their advice so welcome aboard bexiboo92 & have a look at this, you'll find a SAO here :)

First thing first - you are not alone!!! :D

Would agree with above and post your SOA.

You've had your LBM and your OH hasn't (yet!). Don't let him hold you back from getting your own finances sorted. This is YOUr future you need to protect.

If you're struggling with your payments, can you speak to CCCS again? I'm sure they could arrange something to take a bit of pressure off you.

    Chin up :D

  • Sorry you are feeling lonely but as others have said, there is plenty of support on this site - use it! It won't be like this forever, even though it might feel like it x
  • Thanks for all your supportive words; I really do appreciate it.

Will wait to post a SOA due to some possible changes in my wages at work in the next few weeks.

I know where we waste money, I just can't change the way the OH thinks and acts.
  • My OH is the same, so I feel for you. When you post your SOA and we see your situation, then maybe there will be some advice on how to handle your finances with your OH's co-operation, for me I sat him down and showed him exactly how much it costs us to live each month and how much debt we have. Now he has a SO set up to pay me half the total costs (we're fairly balanced wages wise). That way we ensure the money is always there and is gone out of his wages before he gets chance to spend else where. That way there are no missed payments, and if we don't have money to spend on what we want, it's tough.

You're not on your own though :) xxx
