Great news. :) It is so nice to see them going.

I've had 6/7 defaults and one BR order go over the last 12-18 months, with the last and worst coming off recently. So now for the first time in god knows how long I have a technically "clean" file.

Not really going to make a huge difference practically for me, but psychologically it feels like a big milestone.

  • Well done both of you. It must be great to see them "drop off".

It's good to see people who are beating or have beaten their debts.

It will certainly be a long time before I have a "clean" file again but posts like yours make me believe that I can get there....in the end.

    Who are you checking with?

Experian normally remove the at midnight 6 years on the dot.

Equifax are slow and can even take a few extra weeks. You can complain though.

Callcredit are a bit random, but all mine actually came off a week or so early.

  • Thank you for the reply Allypop sorry i didn't see your post!

Fermi i'm with equifax, i may contact them! feels quite depressing when i have been looking forward to this day for over a month. On the plus side when i did check my file this morning my payment History went from red to amber.... so that i am thankful for!

Well, as said Equifax normally take 1-3 weeks or so to actually remove the entry from your viewable report.

God knows why, as the the other CRAs can manage to update them properly and on time?

Equifax are just generally hopeless though. Even more than Experian if that is possible.

If you complain then you might get it taken off quicker. Or they may just dither so long with your complaint that it ends up being no quicker than it would have been.

If it was me I think I would complain on principles sake, as there is no good reason why they should not remove it on the day.

What would have been more useful, would have been advice on how to contact your company and get this issue resolved. Without phoning a foreign call center and them trying to get you off the phone.....
