AktivKapital - Canada

I have an unacknowledged debt from November 2002 which AktivKapital has apparently purchased, as I received a letter from a collection agency telling me to pay it. I have checked the two credit reporting agencies equifax and transunion and both show no debts on file - obviously the statute of limitations has long since expired. They were sending me annoying robo-calls until I changed my #, but now I suppose they will begin sending me letters. I am not overly concerned about the letters but still would prefer knowing how best to deal with this situation. Thus far I have ignored all phone calls (I felt they were fishing for info - why voluntarily give them anything?) and I will likewise be ignoring this letter unless/until I get advice on an appropriate response which might cause them to give up/go away. I just realized this page might be only for UK, I'm not sure, but in any case this alleged debt was incurred in Ontario Canada but I currently reside in Newfoundland Canada..
