I am worried and confused and hope that some of you can make this a bit clearer for me as to what the outcomes will be. As it stands my other half was to attend courtnon the 5th of july with regards to his debt with Nemo finance. (20k with payback of 36k) he didnt go as he was intended in going bankrupt. (and is still intending to do so)

Today my other half has been handed a letter which says 'suspended commital order for disobedience' Basically because he didnt attend on the 5th july for questioning he is guilty of contempt of court. The court has ordered 14 days in prison which will be suspended so long as he goes back to court on the 15th of November.

Whats going to happen? What are the likely outcomes of this? What wil they be asking? Will he have to make payments or can the bankruptcy ball get rolling?

  • He was talking of going bankrupt on 5th July. It's now 17th September and presumably he's done nothing about it from what you have said.

He needs to get some advice from someone like CCCS pdq.

  • thanks, i've arranged for a call back after work for him. to be fair he's not the brightest star in the sky, he didn't know what to do first, who to turn to etc. I immediatly came here to ask for some help. I didn't know he had the loans etc which are from 6+ years ago.
