Yup I know I disappeared for the last week. But I have a great excuse.....and he's sleeping upstairs in his cot.

Zac Edward was born on 14th September at 12:48am weighing 6lbs 13oz. Labour was amazingly fast. Medically it was only 1 hour. But it was only 4 hours between waters going and having my little man in my arms.

Was kept in so long because of some medical concerns, but am home at last and all is going well.

Once again I didn't expect the birth for a good few weeks....and then he decides to come early. I will sort a pic out....but for now they're all on my camera and I have things all over the place.

    Congratulations :T:T:T

Quick labours can be traumatic though - hope everything is OK now.

Looking at his weight, it is probably just as well he came early

Congratulations, and welcome to the world little Zac :T

It really has. Some of the stuff is quite upsetting to read

Yes, but thats only a very small proportion of posts that are 'off key' - the vast majority of folks on here are friendly, caring and helpful and keen to welcome newcomers who are prepared tomake some sort of effort to become part of the group.

There are bound to be a few people who adopt bullying or holier than though attitudes - its like any other small community in real life, we don't get on with all our neighours or even family members and there are people that we must decide to either ignore or have a flaming argument with. We are all entitled to voice our opinions but its pointless to get too worked up to the point of upsetting ourslelves badly about those few people/posts that we don't like. We perhaps need to try to be a bit less sensitive and inclined to take umbrage about certain issues. (and OK, I did get a bit offended last night when somebody labelled a lot of us as greedy, selfish and uncaring - but I'm still hers:p).

Everything is fine. I think it was more traumatic for the poor midwives. One second they were telling me my cervix wasn't even open yet. And 1hour 30 mins later I was 5 cms dilated.

No time for any pain relief (although I asked for it).....was ready for pushing shortly after being told I was 5cms. Heck the midwives didn't even have time to write my notes it was so fast.

No tearing of any kind, no stitches....just stuck in hospital for 6 days.
