    Hi All,

I'm taking the 'newbie' plunge and finally posting... A friend of mine pointed me in your direction a short while ago. Since then I've been doing lots and lots and lots of research.
I have done two shops which I messed up and put down to experience and one which produced a modest, yet satisfying apg.
Especially given that my husband has been made redundant and I've been told to shop at a certain supermarket to save money!
Now I have finally cracked it and have lots of cereal and cleaning products. Off to get some chocolate and wine tomorrow for the weekend!!

THANK YOU ALL who provide lists, guidance and general words of wisdom.

good morning! catching up from last night. lots lovely pictures:), a few recipes:) and unfortunately lots of upset people :(
i am a relative newbie to mse, joined some time back, but have only started reading and posting over the last 6 weeks or so. but whilst READING, i understand that, just like life, if you are seen to be trying, others are willing to help. some of the posts are, what do i buy? whats the trigger? etc etc. its ALL there, you do have to do some research, things dont get handed to you on a plate. dont get me wrong, if i dont understand something, i will ask, but some posters obviously have not researched themselves, and this can annoy anyone. in regards to "bullying", its more sarcastic responses, encouraging those who do read, to look back first. it is frustrating reading the same thing over and over again, so advice for any newbies, dont expect a written list of what to get on every page, it is in this thread, so use the search button, check on msm yourselves do some research and you will see that this is a friendly thread, people who have real lives, real problems, and are really willing to give alot of help and advice in all aspects of life ,
hope this hasnt upset anyone, not my intention, just my thoughts:D:D:D:D

ahhhh - a newbie who gets it!!!
Exactly what I felt like before I took the plunge and joined in - mind you I still get it wrong - my iams shop declared I did not have enough items to compare but i did - honest - should have bunged in some extra fillers - that will teach me!! Got the cleaning and Aussie hair stuff though - thanks to all you wonderful peeps!! Right off to work so no Asda or Tesco's for me today - don't talk too much while I am gone or I will never catch up tonight

Oh and welcome back my fellow Aberdonians from their travels - Westie and Happy - looking forward to you holiday pics!!!

You wont because it was last December ish i was here i believe and when i have popped in since i have kept to myself, i stick mainly on the coupon and cake boards, and just nose every month or so here, it wasn't so much a case of not sticking around long enough more some of the replys being put out there by certain members, its also not nice trying to chat and feeling as if you are talking to yourself 90% of the time when people are quite happy conversing with posts before and after yours if that makes sense, and apparently a lot of people miss the point, like you saying that apg should not be in this thread, but you discuss it here so it attracts attention because it isn't anywhere else, you want it moving to it's own post etc OK, yet you do not want what you call a chat thread moving to the chat boards, i see why you don't want it moving but you can't realy argue for one but then oppose the other. :o

    Hi littlebit:wave:

I can understand a lot of your points.
I think the general argument is that we are hidden on the gone section because we chat. A lot. It is very much centred on all things moneysaving but with a lot of madness thrown into the mix.

The APG glitch is certainly a major anomaly that is active do a lot feel it should have its own dedicated thread in a more accessible place. A lot of folk who have joined in for the APG (which is absolutely fine, by the way) don't share the same tolerance for the amount of chat that has become customary on here.

I can see the arguments both for and against the separate APG thread so I reserve judgement.

I also hope that you stick around though (as I've just read SW... has also said).

    Morning all :)

Well my printer is well and truly dead, it refuses to grip paper now despite OH twiddling with the innards ...

My 2 shops yesterday were nearly perfect

I remembered the rule of at least 8 different
    I remembered the right fillers
I remembered the rule of 3
I stuck to the lists like glue

Also my make- up- the- numbers items were ones I actually needed like pots, stew sauce suet for dupplings so well pleased.

Also downloaded the Asda ap so I sent my vouchers to OH to print off. Its annoying that you catn see the comparisons lists on the app.

One item did not come out quite right. I got 3 wines 1st time in about 3 weeks and I seemed to think one rose and 2 red - is this correct?

    1 x Vina Albali Rosado Tempranillo (750ml)£5.98£4.00
2 x Vina Albali Smooth Red Tempranillo (750ml)£11.96£8.00

Yes I need guidance with this - I think there are some experts on the group now re online shops - pretty please.

I was thinking of doing a coke shop as its a bulky item - but is this an A v S shop so what else goes with coke? (Seem to think its nivea???)

So you have to spend at least £25 ???
(also remeber the rules of 8 and the multiples of 2 or 3 :D )
And make sure you tick the no substitutes box?
And you can get cheap late in the day deliveries for about £2?
Also remember to go through Topcash to get some cashback - are there any 1st time delivery codes on the other thread?

Then I was thinking if the 1st online shop worked I could then do for the 2nd shop one with the larger bags of Iams (fingers crossed still glitching in a weeks time) This shop is easier - same as yesterdasy Iams, Mr Kiplings cereals shop but in slightly larger volumes.

I've been getting the 300g bags of Iams in sets of 3 to keep my APGs down. The bags are so small though and with 3 cats 300g does not last long.

    Any other helpful advice?

I think the week wait for the code would test my nerves!
