  • finally the obligatory sunset pic.... which I'm rather partial to! I was quite pleased with it as I had to set the camera up first and then spook the birds into flight and pan with them with settings all ready to get the shot. :)

    Thanks for looking.

Fantastic photos French Knickers! Thanks so much for sharing them.

I really love the sunset one. Such lovely warm colours which are so comforting especially now the weather is turning colder. I love each and every one of the photos you've posted. They would make great calendar shots. Do you ever enter competitions with your photos?

Just before I go. I was scanning a few old pics earlier when I stumbled upon this one. The dog obviously licked her nose just as the flash went off. Makes for a funny pic I thought...........

That is a cute pic. I've noticed over the years that some dogs will quite often lick their nose when being photographed.
It was only recently I learnt that licking the nose is one of the "calming signals" used by dogs when they are in uncomfortable or possibly stressful situations.
This could be when meeting a new dog, being cornered or even being photographed. Some dogs seem to pose for the camera happily while others will look away or do this nose licking thing.

(I'm not saying your dogs was stressed or unhappy by the way FK, it just reminded me of this classic dog behaviour).

For anyone interested in dog behaviour I would highly recommend the book "On talking terms with dogs: Calming Signals by Turid Rugaas."

It's only a small book and available cheaply on Amazon, but it's packed full of really helpful insights into dog behaviour. I wish this book could be given to every person who adopts or buys a dog as it would really help with human & dog interaction.

There is also lots of great information on her website: http://www.canis.no/rugaas/onearticle.php?artid=1

Anyway, my boring ramble on dog behaviour has now ended lol! :p

Can you tell I can't be bothered with all the Sada stuff today.:o :)
