Good morning all. I can actually move my head this morning, amazing how it feels so good to look to the side!!!
Been desperately trying to catch up but not sure it will happen today,, though the thread is not moving quite as fast as when I got home off hols.
Came across a few threads about ungrateful friends. Only slightly related but I shall share something I heard in my school gates days. There was a woman standing at the gates talking to a friend. She must have been the size of the back end of a bus, enormous, and she was chain smoking. She was complaining how the council would not give her any more money to pay for the kids' school uniform! Never one to hold my tongue when needs be, I mentioned to her that maybe if she gave up smoking she would be able to afford the uniform herself, she obviously told me to mind my business in less than wonderful terms. Bear in mind that there was a lot of kids around, the amount of expletives that came out of her mouth was interminable! But it really annoys me when people do nothing to solve their own problems, she must have been on 60 a day minimum, in those days it must have been a minimum of £9 a day(it was a while ago!!) which would translate to £63 a week - how many school uniforms could you get for that! And her clothes weren't cheap either, they had designer labels on (though why she bothered I have NO idea!!)
I suspect she would be one of the people that we try to explain the ethos of the site to that simply don't get it, or can't be bothered to put effort into money saving! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Morning all, just going to do nivea/herbs and ale /choc shops today.
Will post anything new later.
The sun shines in the south, and I've got the winter veg to plant this afternoon. It'll be nice to do that rather than wander round sada for stuff I don't need, but seem to end up buying anyway!!!!
My DH has decided we NEED more ale though!
Have a good day.x0 -
