Nikki, to you and everyone else whose offspring are off to college/Uni for the first time:

I can so relate to how you are feeling, because 12 months ago I was in exactly the same position and wondering what the heck was wrong with me, because I'm normally a strong person. Like you I only have one child, a daughter. Her dad has been away abroad on business all week every week for most of her life, and so we two are incredibly close. Sending her off to Uni felt like I was going to be missing a limb, even though I was so proud and pleased she'd got in to do what she wanted.

What I can tell you is that, yes, it does feel odd for the first few days/ couple of weeks, but it very quickly becomes the new normal and it's absolutely fine. It's lovely when they come home and you enjoy their company, and it's lovely when they go back too and you haven't got the mountains of dirty glasses, piles of laundry and dirty plates lying around! Skype is a godsend, and we usually end up speaking at some point most days if we see the other is online and it's convenient for them to talk.

Why not plan to do some thing with Mr Lala the first few days just while you get used to it - a meal out, a trip to the cinema or something, treat yourself to some whoopsied flowers on the way home and generally make it a nice time. I promise you honey, it will be fine, and very soon you will wonder what you were so bothered about. :A xxx

    And happy birthday choirchick!

And a heads up for those who've still got some car/sofa MOCs left - (quite a few people I would imagine). Flash All Purpose Thai Orchid with febreze is reduced to £1.14 at Mr T's, so 14p after the MOC. They've got the Lenor 83 washes (blue or yellow) down to £4 at the minute, but it's down to £3 in A, so if you use a MOC out of the current magazine and it compares, it could be a a goodie. I'll try it next time I'm there.

Thanks Lutzi, what you said about geting MrLala to take me out is so right:THes arranged to go away for a fishing weekend the first weekend after DS has gone and I've told him he can't:pI've told him has can't leave me totally on my own especially as Nannylala is going away for a few months again as well.My friends will be sick of the sight of me in the next few months:oand so will A's and T's;)
They don't make it as far as the car park let alone home!

My flumps make it home but my mice don't usually;)

Did the extra 25% come off of the wine in the comparison? I have a couple of hours to wait yet to see if it compares with the wine fair discount.

no i don't think so. I've just tried to look at the comparison results again but i'm getting the "down for maintenance page"
I'll have a look again in a bit for you.
