OK now I can tell you ~ just got back for a rally day at Silverstone to launch the Sun newspaper new rally car. I won it, but said it was my son, as I don't particularly want my photo taking.
I took my son, who had the rally driving session, and a lap round in the new car with Guy Wilkes, and a couple of laps in the cars they had the tuition in. It was the 50th anniversary of Scalextric, who are part sponsoring one of the cars. Had a nice lunch, and then got a very large Mercedes Scalextric, and a 2 goody bags, which had Ben Sherman original page three girl shirts, baseball caps, sunglasses, mobil mug, Scalextric 50th & anniversary books ~ all in all a wicked prize. I must say also that the people there were really friendly as well. They were filming for Sky TV a Rally Review, which will go out on 17th 18th April. So now I have well and truly won my comp challenge.
The worst thing of the day was that we had a horrendous journey back, got to junction 21 on the M1, just as Sally traffic announced that there was a 40 mile tail back, just where were going, changed our route about five times, as everytime we seemed to be getting a move on we hit either another accident, or extremely heavy traffic.
