Utility Bill Credit Agreement

Firstly my apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum and secondly this could be a complex story, so I apologise for that to!
I am a joint tenant of a rented property. Unfortunately the other tenant passed away at the end of August. By law this of course makes me now liable for everything related to the property in joint name. Unbeknown to me, the other tenant had put all utilities in joint name (he had always told me I couldn't ring the companies to look at changing tariffs because my name was not on the bill) but aside from that, I had no reason to distrust the payment of the bills. Every month I paid money into his bank account for Rent and Bills (landlord had written into tenancy agreement that rent must be paid from one account), other tenant saying he would handle it all. Anyway, since his death it has been discovered that many bills have been left unpaid and of course, that my name has been jointly put against all of them.
My question is this.... I have run a credit report today to make sure no CCJs have gone against my name without me knowing. When looking through the report EON comes up in the credit agreement section with an amount of £32 per month. The agreement was apparently set up on 19/02/2012 but we moved into the property in October last year. Does anyone know why a utilities company would be recorded against me as a credit agreement? My car finance and my phone contract I understand but not a utility company.
Any help appreciated!!!
Thanks x

http://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/sample-credit-report.htmlAccount information - The term "credit" covers every account that gives you something of value - money, goods or services - that you can use today, on the understanding that you will repay the lender at a later date. That's why you'll find items such as utility and mobile phone accounts here, as well as credit cards, loans and mortgages.
All depends on how you define "credit" I suppose.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
