Help required please what does 0.575 FTE mean????

Hi I have a job interview and i cant figure out the salary
Its £16000 for a full time, this job is 25 hours per week 0.575 FTE (190 days as term time only)

what will the salary be - can anyone help, also its only for one year if that makes any difference????

I think its going to be a big drop in salary from what i get now and I really need to know that before I step into the interview.
:(
Thanks :j

  • £9,200?

    0.575 * £16,000 = 9,200

FTE means full time equivalent so your pay will be 0.575 times the full time equivalent.
  • thanks, thats what i thought, but hoped it may be something else, do you know what the point of mentioning the 190 days worked, it seemed to mean something regarding the salary?
    as?

also wouldnt 9200 be for a full time working week but term time only

Full time would be around 330 working days per year. Therefore 330 x 0.575 is 190 days.
  • so does the salary still work out at 9200, do you still work it out as 0.575 of full time salary?
  • Why not ring and ask? This is what the advert seems to be suggesting but if you're not sure, there's no harm in asking.

It reads to me that you will work 190 days which is 0.575 of the full time year so you will be paid 0.575 of the full time salary.

It's only .575 of the full time salary for the days you are working, so it depends if the full time equivalent is all year round or also term time only. It that makes sense.

Why don't you just phone or email them and ask?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • thanks, i think it means that but was hoping for a miracle! lol, thanks so much for your help

BASED ON FULL TIME HOURS BEING 35 A WEEK YOUR SALARY FOR WORKING 25 HOURS AND TERM TIME ONLY WOULD BE APPROX £6571

Whoops sorry for caps, not shouting just too lazy to change it.

Take home pay averaged across the year would be roughly £547 a month
