    IMO, a dessert spoon is TOO SMALL for decent morsels. If you peck at your food then yes, go for it, if not, its gonna get real tiring, real fast! :D

    Also, different tablespoons have different sizing. Some of them can be used to eat and then we have serving spoons that are bigger than tablespoons that we use for serving. Hope that helps!

    A tablespoon is normally a large spoon used for serving, too big to use for eating. A dessert spoon is smaller, and usually used for eating dessert.

    Just a bit of history;

    Originally tablespoons were used for soup, drinking from the side. Then the pointed end was removed to produce what we now have as a soup spoon shape.
  • Bought some of Viners cutlery earlier this year and very disapointed as some of the items are showing rust spots on edges .
  • Don't know if this is of interest to anyone but I was browsing this website and came across their weekly deal (a new one starts each Monday apparently).

    Nice stainless steel cutlery now at 65p per piece. It is dishwasher proof and has 25 yr guarantee.

    Free delivery on orders over £25 or £3.95 under £25. If my sums are right, you could get 8 of each piece for £26 - I think!!!

    Don't know how good a deal this is but it is quality stuff.

    Presumably there will be a different deal tomorrow.

    No, I haven't checked that - understandably the levels may be low as this is the last day of the deal. Cheeky that they have put them up by 5p!

    Thanks for the info.
