I badly need a loan for a car, poor credit rating though! Help me please!

hey all,

im new to the site so be kind, this has probably been posted a few times before but i cant find any thread.

i need a loan of only £1000 for a car, i just passed my test and my employers have work at sites all accross scotland, need a car so can be considered for work, im only part time just now earning £1000 per month so cant splash all that on a car for obvious reasons.

now i probably have one of the worst credit ratings out there, i am ashamed so dont worry about that, its an old credit car, overdraft and payday loan, which i havent paid:( (just moved out of parents house so starting life from scratch) i will pay them once my work picks up and i have all essentials in my flat. iv applied for mobiles etc and have also been declined so that stuffs not helpin my cause.

anyway is there anywhere that i can get a wee £1000 loan over 2-3 years? the could prob secure it to the car ill buy with it since im no homeowner? i have had a wee look but dont want to affect my rating and make it worse and worse getting nowhere, so looking for guaranteed lenders for my situation.

any advice here would be greatly greatly appreciated,

many thanks

  • No reputable company will lend you a grand with a bad credit rating end of.

Do not search loans for bad credit on google search neither as what looks like a decent website which offers loans for people with bad credit the fact is they don't but they will quite happily take your bank details and make your account £70 light within the hour and promise you a loan of which won't happen.
  • How are you planning on covering the associated costs that come with car ownership? Insurance, MOT, Tax, Misc maintenance?
  • A loan of £1k when you haven't any money isn't small. It's a very large loan, as has been shown by the fact you can't save that amount of money.

Sorry, but anything other than a Payday loan is probably out of the question. Can't you raise the money from friends or family.

Sorry, can't think of any sensible way you'd get a loan. Unless you can pay for your insurance in a lump sum, they might also do a credit search on you. Whilst that's not a problem in itself (it appears on your credit file as insurance quote), it might be if they won't allow you to then pay monthly because of your history, and you've got a car which you can't afford to insure.

Unfortunately your non-payment of loans, overdraft, credit card etc appear to have caught up with you. You won't have been able to get a mobile because of your credit history and it would appear that you have some black marks against it.

Rather than not being bothered, I would suggest that your first steps ought to be to address your debts by getting a copy of your credit report to see exactly what is on there. You could have some CCJ's etc and you really need to try and address the payday loans otherwise you are going to get into a worse mess because of the levels of interest they charge.

Although you want to "start from scratch" which I can understand, you are going to have to deal with the debts in one way or another - ignoring them won't work. As for the car - you can't afford a car as your insurance is going to be huge as you have just passed your test.

Can you move back in with your parents and sort your debts out?

..i will pay them once my work picks up and i have all essentials in my flat.

This indicates that you're not taking your responsibilies towards your existing debt seriously. Therefore, I am delighted to tell you that no single mainstream lender will lend you a brass farthing.

"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."
