Default

Is there a minimum you can you be defaulted on? A year ago I feel behind with catalogue payments, my fault and mine alone. However I made a £280.00 payment, leaving £14.00 on the account, and that month was defaulted for £14.00, thanks very much Express Gifts Ltd.

This was a year ago, I have 5 years left with a teeny tiny default, but no mortgage lender is going to care about the amount, they're just going to see default and decline me.

I've half a mind to try to get it removed but don't have high hopes, in my very poor defence I had tried to pay off most of the balance, I left £14.00 on there for follow up because being able to eat is often important to me. I don't recall receiving a letter advising me that I was going to be defaulted on £14.00, and I can't believe Exp Gifts Ltd didn't notice that I'd paid them £280.00 so was clearly TRYING to sort this (Sorry, I'm ranting now...!). In short, is there ANYTHING I can do? I fully accept I shouldn't have got in that situation in the first place, but I truly tried to pay them back :( I have since satisfied their £14.00 (2 days after the default was apparently issued... great timing on my part).
