Holiday pay? My contract says for every month worked?

Thanks.
If 12.07% is used in my calculation,
3.98 * 16 hours = 63.68 hours owed
whereas I got it to 56.96 hours owed.
So where does the figure of 12.07% come from?
Thanks
5.6 statutory holiday so you work 46.4 weeks.
5.6/(50-5.6) = 0.1206896
if the company gives more holidays the number is different but same calculation subsitute the 5.60 -
Hello,
Im only entitled to statutory holiday pay.
(you put 50-5.6 instead of 52-5.6)?
Im confused as to why you would divide the amount of holidays your entitled to which in this case is 5.6 weeks by the amount of weeks in the year minus the 5.6 weeks. Why.
So basically why are we doing the sum 5.6/46.4? (which=12.07%) I know 46.4 is 52 weeks minus 5.6 weeks hols. but why?
I thought even when your on holiday for a week or whatever your still acruing some holiday entitlement? So making the calculation 5.6/52 (or more simply 28/52) ?
Thanks for help..0 -
No you only accrue holidays when you are working (unless on sick or maternity) so when on your hols you dont accrue.
A full timer is entitled to 28 days or 5.6 weeks, you only work for 46.4 weeks so you only accrue 46.4 weeks x 12.07%=5.6weeks (28 days). For every hour/day/week you work you earn 12.07% holidays.
Hope this is clearer.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
