Are Sainsbury's really stopping the use of giftcards to pay for fuel? Haven't found it on they website.
Any links? Only found some posts on the forums here back in March.

I used my gift card for fuel about 3 weeks ago, but not heard anything about it stopping. That will be a shame if they are stopping it0

Maybe send them an email0

Response back from Sainsbury's
If your Sainsbury’s Gift Card is a retail card (purchased from a store), you may continue to use your card at the petrol stations.

However, if your card has been obtained through a third party, it will no longer be able to be used at our petrol stations from 16th October 2012.
Third Party companies have been notified of the change of use of the gift cards, and therefore they have the responsibility to notify their clients of such changes.0 -
How will they know? I have had the notification via my 3rd party (works discount scheme). Gutted!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0

My work has Perkz, who advertiese that, but I've never got around to using the card.
Still, I suppose if you shop at Sainsburys you could use the card for shopping, and get petrol with normal methods of payment.0 -
Could you not use it to buy a 'normal' giftcard instore, then use that for petrol?“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Sainsburys Charlton refused me instore gift cards and screwed me over because of it. They had a sign string no gift cards whatsoever.0

Why would you buy a giftcard and give Sainsbury's the money before you buy their goods?... (and possibly lose any protection that may be offered by your bank/cc provider).
The only advantage of the giftcard was the 5% discount if bought through an employee benefits scheme.0
