Who to call for free debt help and advice

Hello.

I'm getting a few calls from companies re debts I didn't know I had etc, so who do I call for free, impartial advice to sort out these debts?

I see lots of adverts on the TV, but for some reason I don't trust them.

I have previously dealt with CAB but didn't find them very good.

Who else is reliable and can get things sorted?

Thanks

Do not go to any fee-charging agency for advice.
Try CCCS, PAYPLAN or National DebtHelpline - there are links at the top of the page.
You can also post your questions here.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks a lot. I've called CCCS and I have a telephone appointment with them next Tuesday morning.
